Mother Earth is pissed off, and has a need to blow off a little (or a lot of) steam. I’m a big believer in the correlation between “earth energy” and “people energy”. You know, that macro- vs. micro-level theory. When the negative energy in humans reaches a boiling point, at some level it affects the energy of the global community, thereby affecting the energy of our globe, AKA: earth.
The divide and discourse between people seems to be getting wider and hotter (many theorize at the hands of social media), and our youth has no idea how to handle rejection. Let alone how to play well together on the playground. My conversation is not about politics or guns (although it COULD BE). It’s about how people treat people.
I don’t know the answer. I wish I did.
So, the best I can do is to keep offering POSITIVE energy out into a world which so desperately needs it right now . . . hoping my little positive ripple reaches out and diffuses some little bit of resistance and hate.
Go ahead, call me Pollyanna . . . others have. But if I believe it could happen at the micro level, that also means it could happen at the global level.
Please join me. Let’s try it.

So many of our clients are building their businesses around their passion.

For Kim, that means building CONFIDENCE in young women — starting here, in metro St. Louis!

Kim lo resMeet Kim Bolourtchi — attorney, competitive Latin dancer, Zumba and dance instructor, and Mom of two (an 11 and a 13-year-old). When not working at the St. Louis law firm she co-founded with her husband, Kim is building her new business, “Project be Confident” by offering empowerment workshops around the metro St. Louis area for grades 3 thru 12 girls.

Project BE Confident is a unique (and FUN) girls’ empowerment program that changes lives. Girls who have attended are walking away feeling inspired, stronger, and a lot clearer in how to deliver credible, powerful messages. They are embracing their uniqueness and listening to their own voices. They are a lot clearer in how to respond in morally murky waters, and clearer about how to stand up for themselves and each other. They leave standing taller, smiling bigger, and projecting confidence.LogoFinal-PBC-SM

With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication emphasizing non-verbal communication and public speaking, Kim started Project Be Confident to inspire, encourage and empower pre-teen through adult women to fearlessly BE Bold, BE Strong, BE Confident as they embrace:

  • Bold Communication
  • Strong Relationships
  • Confident Movement

Teen self esteem is at an all time low. Kim is doing something about it!

Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 12.56.45 PMMany of our clients fall into the category of “fearless entrepreneurs” who just happen to be “Creating a Happy, Healthy, Heart-filled Planet”. Be it financial health, physical health, mental health, social health . . . (you get the picture).

As entrepreneurs, educators, C-level executives, MBAa, MDs, PhDs and a sundry selection of top-notch speakers and consultants — they have all found a way to honor the passion that drives them, coupled with a need to share it with the world, ultimately leading them down the path to profits.

In addition, I’ve noticed quite a few of these same clients originated from “Corporate America” . . . hit burnout or were downsized . . . took a leap of faith . . . and started their own business. With experience as their brain-trust, they decided to follow their passion and do something they’ve always wanted to try — run their own business. They found a way to turn their Passion + Purpose into Profits.

Most people cringe at the idea of leaving behind a well-paying job “with benefits” and taking that leap of faith without some sort of “incentive” to make a change. “Change” or the incentive to “make a move” away from the secure world of a steady paycheck typically comes in one of three ways:

  • SHOCK (also known as the “brick-upside-the-head”) . . . comes in the form of a downsizing, or a health scare, or a car accident, etc.
  • OPPORTUNITY. . . perhaps a new job offer, an inheritance, winning the lottery, etc.
  • GROWTH . . . a personal realization that you are no longer happy doing what you get paid for and would MUCH rather be doing something else — sometimes ANYTHING else

Author Martha Beck talks about how this “growth spurt” occurs in a lot of people at midlife. We tend to be more comfortable with who we are, and are more willing to “buck the trend” of what we’re “expected to do” (per family, peers, co-workers). We also start paying more attention to our own internal compass — something Martha calls “compass vs. culture”. Our inner compass becomes more important as we begin to experience burnout or dissatisfaction, and we are more likely to be willing to discount our “up-until-now” culture messages.

SO . . . what would YOU be doing if you listened to your internal compass and followed your passion . . . ?
